Mr Iglesias brings several years
of experience in communications, research and journalism,
both in his native Argentina and in the United States.
He is currently President of RHI Communications, a communications
and media research consulting firm in Washington, DC.
He also writes for the Spanish News Agency EFE, the
fourth most important newswire in the world, about telecommunications,
media and technology, including the political use of
communications. He is also consultant for MAYA Communications
where he writes, researches and translates material
on a wide range of topics, including telecommunications,
energy and public policy.
For several years, Mr Iglesias
was editor in the Latin American desk at the United
Press International (UPI) in Washington, where he edited
and translated news copy, as well interviewed heads
of state, politicians, and diplomats. He also appeared
as political analyst at international TV service Worldnet,
and worked as a feature writer at El Tiempo Latino,
the leading Washington Spanish-language newspaper.
In the last 10 years, as a free-lance
journalist, Mr Iglesias also provided news coverage
for the most important Latin American media, including
Multimedios America (Argentina), Noticiero Nacional
(Colombian TV newscast), El Telégrafo
(Ecuador), Radio Nuevo Tiempo (Uruguay) and Grupo Radio
Centro (Mexico).
Mr Iglesias served also as a
Spanish Editor for Latin America at Zona Financiera
Inc., a portal on financial information in the Internet.
He earned a bachelor's degree
in law from the University of Buenos Aires and was awarded
three awards for outstanding reporting on Latin American
affairs by the National Association of Hispanic Publications
(NAHP).
