INC Confirmed Off the Air, Broadcasts Planned By Martin Schoech May 15, 1998
A few days ago Clandestine Radio Watch (CRW) editor Nick Grace received a message from the Iraqi National Congress [INC], confirming reports in CRW 002, that they were currently not doing any broadcasting. Another confirmation for this news is the following report that appeared in the Arabic-language newspaper 'Al-Quds al-Arabi' (which is published in London) on May 4th, 1998:
"Washington: Sources in the Iraqi National Congress [INC] group, led by Ahmad Chalabi, have said that the group is about to resume its propaganda activities against the regime of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn in Baghdad through a radio station in Kuwait. INC members began to prepare for this after the US House of Representatives issued its decision No 3579 last month adding 5m dollars to the US State Department's budget to finance Iraqi opposition groups..."
