| The radio station is an "independent commercial station," according to TDP, that is not aligned with any political parties. Other sources claim that the station is backed by KONGRA-GEL (KGK), formerly known as the Kurdistan Freedom and Democracy Congress (KADEK) between 2002 and 2003, and also as the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) between 1984 and 2002. The KGK is listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State and the Council of the European Union and advocates the secession of the Kurdish area of Turkey. |
