Radio Sol (Ground Radio)

Also known as: Radio Paix
Long-planned as ab outreach and educational tool for Afghan women the station hit the airwaves during Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S. and coalition military intervention in October 2001. It was funded by the French media NGO Droit de Parole and supported the Northern Alliance.
Organization
The Northern Alliance (Payam-e-Mujahid) and French media NGO Droit de Parole. Station was planned before the U.S./British air strikes on the Taliban in October 2001. Initially it was to educate women, however, by the time it got on the air the purpose changed to support the Northern Alliance.
Location
Jabalosaraj, Parvan Province, Afghanistan. Station had a 30 km coverage.
