Among the founders of the station was Raden Mas Suyoto Suryodipuro, who went on to become one of Indonesia's most respected diplomats. K'tut Tantri, a British woman who fell in love with Bali, became infamous in England for her anti-colonial broadcasts over Radio Indonesia and was given the nickname "Surabaya Sue." The network of stations became Radio Republik Indonesia on September 11, 1945. |
